Final Film Trailer

This is the Final draft for our film trailer:

This was the first draft and it has no sound as we never finished it because we added improvements all the time. Audience feedback suggested that we needed to correct the colour and lighting of most of the clips as they did not follow conventions. Other feedback suggested that we needed to change the order of the clips and get new clips that would build tension and suspense which would also help our trailer follow the conventions.

This was the second draft and you can really see how it had improved from the first draft but still needed more shots to look professional. The narrative of the trailer also needed improvement so we decided to use different audio which introduces the story (the phone call at the beginning of the final draft). The newer clips we got were inspired a lot from trailers we had watched online. We had also changed the colour and lighting of some of the clips as the audience suggested which made it look a lot better than the first draft.

  1. Through her work on this group trailer, Kathryn has demonstrated excellence in the creative use of the following technical skills:
    - shooting material appropriate to task set, including controlled use of camera, attention to framing, variety of shot sizes and close attention to mise-en-scene.
    - editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer through making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions, captions and effects (excellent use of AfterEffects for text).
    - recording and editing sound with images appropriately.
