Professional Music Photographers

The first music photographer I found that I liked is Austin Hargrave who has photographed many celebrities and musicians. Austin Hargrave is from Manchester in England but is now based in Los Angeles. His first photography job was for his local photographer and he had to develop lots of roll of black and white film by hand. I think his photographs are very relaxing and unique compared to other photographer's, I also really like the fact that he doesn't often use a studio. Here are a few of his photographs of musicians:

The next photographer I liked is a very classic and well known music photographer called Baron Wolman. Baron has been photographing musicians on and off stage since 1965 and has photographed some of the most iconic musicians and musical events of all times including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. His career with The Rolling Stones is what got him famous as he produced very good photographs of the musicians of the time. He is also well known for his photographs of the Woodstock festival which was a festival for young adults (mainly hippies) and many of his Woodstock images are very iconic. I like Wolman's photographs because they show two sides to the artists, the relaxed and personal side and the onstage side. I also like the fact that these were all shot on Black and White Films cameras so it is amazing that the images turned out the way they did without him looking at them immediately  after like we can with digital cameras. Here are some images by Baron Wolman:
